Intense Dark Chocolate Cake

Dark chocolate cake is a real temptation for chocolate lovers, especially for those who enjoy intense and sophisticated flavors.

Made with high cocoa content chocolate, this cake stands out for its depth of flavor, rich texture and a perfect balance between the sweetness and bitterness characteristic of dark chocolate.

Ingredients:

  • 200g of Alma do Cacau dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa)
  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 150g coconut or brown sugar
  • 100g almond flour or buckwheat flour (for a gluten-free option)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Optional: raspberry flakes or raw cacao nibs for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Heat the oven to 180ºC and line a baking tray with baking paper or grease it with butter.
  2. Melt the Alma do Cacau dark chocolate with the butter in a bain-marie or in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until you obtain a smooth cream. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until you get a fluffy, whitish mixture.
  4. Add the melted chocolate to the egg and sugar mixture, mixing gently.
  5. Add the flour, baking powder and pinch of salt, stirring gently until everything is well incorporated.
  6. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for about 20-25 minutes. The center should be slightly moist.
  7. Allow to cool before unmolding. Decorate with raspberry flakes, cocoa nibs or a light pinch of fleur de sel.
